The Long Weekend Havana experience is alive and in full swing. Curated by renowned Cuban composer and pianist Alejandro Del Valle, our live music program brings traditional and modern Cuban sounds to every corner of the building — from the Barra Principal to the underground La Bóveda.
Expect the unexpected: a Cuban trio serenading your table, a reggaeton DJ taking over the basement, or the rhythm of Havana drifting through the room from original audio recorded in the bars, cafes, and streets of Cuba itself.

DJ bselektiv is a music curator, vinyl collector and North Beach local, has played across the City’s favorite bars and clubs, throughout the U.S., Burning Man and in the heart of Cuba. Bselektiv brings a night of Habana energy to the dance floor blending Cuban classics, reggaeton, and underground Latin beats.
For his first set at the Long Weekend expect the riddim of reggae + hip hop mixed to serve his distinct blend of Cuban Reggaeton. It’s marked by a base of traditional Cuban dance rhythms interspersed with modern Caribbean rhythms such as Soca, calypso kin and dance hall.

Steel pan, horns, and a Latin-funk groove. A tiki bar doesn't get a better match than that. Trumpeter and steelpan player Chris Aschman brings the Volcanic Band to Long Weekend to celebrate their new album.
Chris is a Baltimore native who studied jazz trumpet at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and spent nearly two decades as a fixture of the Philly scene. As a performer, educator, studio musician, and arranger, he has shared the stage with Paquito D'Rivera, Stanley Clarke, Dionne Warwick, Chaka Khan, Kool and the Gang, Andy Narell, and many more. Since moving to the Bay in 2022, he's been mixing jazz funk, Latin jazz, and steelband music into something fresh and very danceable.
