THE MUSIC OF CUBA
The Long Weekend Havana experience will feature live traditional and modern Cuban music performances, curated by locally based, renowned Cuban composer and pianist, Alejandro Del Valle. Original audio recorded in the bars, the cafes and the streets of Havana during our recent visits complement the aural immersion throughout the establishment.
Live music will pop-up in the various spaces inside the building. It could be a Cuban trio serenading tables in the Barra Principal, or a Cuban Reggaeton DJ surprising the guests in the underground "La Bóveda" bar.

Rueda Con Ritmo, founded in San Francisco in 2007, has become a cornerstone of the Bay Area’s Cuban salsa community — known for their warm, inclusive energy and their commitment to helping dancers of all levels grow, connect, and have fun.
To celebrate, we’re offering an afternoon of classes and social dancing in our new North Beach Cuban bar. We’ll have two classes running simultaneously — one for beginners and one for intermediate/advanced dancers — so everyone can jump in. Classes are $15 at the door.

Founded by directors Bryon and Sammantha Stroud, Inessence Dance Company began in 2012 as a small group of passionate bachata and salsa dancers. Today, it’s a thriving community of over 100 members across the Bay Area. Guided by creativity, connection, and dedication, Bryon and Sammantha continue to inspire dancers on and off the stage.
Join them for a class from 4:30–5:30 PM ($15 per person, 21+), followed by free social dancing—the perfect way to move, connect, and keep the rhythm going. 💃🕺

A Miami native with roots in NYC and now the Bay, GEEPOWR has been moving dance floors around the world for more than two decades. His sets pull from Rock, Pop, EDM, Reggae, and Hip-Hop — the kind of eclectic energy shaped by years spinning in New York, Miami, Japan, Germany, Jamaica, and across Hawaii’s Caribbean American scene.
A regular at SF staples like Swig and the Redwood Room, GEEPOWR brings a seasoned, crowd-focused style that keeps the room alive and the momentum unstoppable.

From Cuba to the Bay, Pablo Dinámico has been lighting up dance floors since the age of 8. A master of salsa, cha-cha-cha, and Afro-Cuban styles, his energy radiates the true spirit of Cuba — and now he’s bringing that rhythm to Long Weekend!
Join us for an unforgettable afternoon as Pablo leads a lively salsa class made for all levels — whether you’re finding your rhythm or showing off your moves.
Class Details:
Class starts at 4:30pm; Registration at 4pm
Class is 1 hour with additional 30 min social dancing
Then, there will be music for anyone to join and dance into the evening….
SATURDAY: DJ LEYDIS
Salsa, Timbo, Songo y Mas!
Born and raised in Cuba, DJ Leydis combines contemporary hits with a distinct fusion of Latin flavors, R&B classics, and roots reggae blends. Involved in the Cuban hip-hop movement since its inception, DJ Leydis helped organize some of the country’s most respected and best-attended events and community programs. She cofounded Omegas Kilay, a hip-hop theater collective in Havana focused on presenting the poetry, music, experiences, and perspectives of artists such as DJ Yari, Danay Suarez, Nono, La LLave De IPG, La Negra, and Las Krudas. DJ Leydis co-created the first all-female DJ mixtape in Cuba, contributing a special blend of new flavor and spirit to the international community.
Later, DJ Leydis migrated to United States to expand upon her work as a DJ and has worked with Erykah Badu, Quest Love of the Roots, and other iconic US-based artists.
With this being her first show at Long Weekend Havana, it’s set to be massive…!

Toonin is a fresh and upcoming DJ born and raised in the Bay Area. She uses her love of music as a tool to engage community, create connection, and uplift the energy. From R&B and hip-hop gems, lively Latin to dancey house music, one thing is for sure, expect the unexpected!
