Lisa Liu is a San Francisco–based guitarist known for her expressive blend of jazz, jazz manouche, and solo guitar performance. An internationally active performer and educator, she is an Artist Ambassador for Santa Cruz Guitar Company, Sadowsky Guitars, Larkspur Guitars, and Krivo Pickups.
Liu has performed at renowned venues and festivals including Birdland, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, Django Reinhardt Festival, and The Freight & Salvage. She has collaborated and taught alongside acclaimed artists including Mimi Fox, Martin Taylor, and John Knowles, and currently performs with award-winning poet Cornelius Eady.
A dedicated educator, Liu teaches for TrueFire, Django and June, and the Puget Sound Guitar Workshop, and works with the San Francisco Symphony on educational outreach programs in San Francisco public schools. She has also been an Artist in Residence in both the United States and France.
Liu released her debut jazz album Introducing Lisa Liu in 2018, followed by Temperance in 2024, and composed music for the 2023 stage production A Little More Blue
