Carlitos Medrano — Rhythms From Havana to the Bay

Born in Havana, Carlos Medrano is a percussionist rooted in the deep traditions of Cuban Rumba and folkloric music. Formally trained at one of Cuba's most prestigious music schools, he studied under legendary percussionists including the iconic Changuito, and performed at Havana's celebrated Jazz Plaza International Jazz Festival.

Since arriving in the Bay Area in 2008, Carlos has become a staple of the region's Latin music scene — gracing stages at the San Jose Jazz Festival, San Francisco Carnival, Healdsburg Jazz Festival, and Yoshi's Jazz Club, among many others.

He brings the soul of Havana to every stage he touches. 🥁
