Edgardo Cambón has been performing since he was nine years old. Born in Montevideo, Uruguay, he made his professional debut singing tangos on public television — and never looked back. Over a career spanning South America, Europe, Africa, and the U.S., he has shared the stage and studio with Chucho Valdés, Eddie Palmieri, Carlos Santana, Jerry Rivera, Omar Sosa, Karl Perazzo, and the Grammy Award-winning Pacific Mambo Orchestra, among countless others.

An LP endorser since the early 90s and a respected educator at universities worldwide, Edgardo also leads his long-running salsa band Candela — doubling on congas and lead vocals for nearly 40 years and counting.
